Allen Paulson

Funeral Service for Allen LeRoy Paulson, age 75, of Herman, Minnesota will be held Friday, February 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman, Minnesota with Rev. Lloyd Heroff officiating. Pallbearers will be Bruce Paulson, David Paulson, Kevin Paulson, Michael Paulson, Brian Paulson and Jody Paulson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Paulson, Mark Paulson, Tim Ruud, Alvin French, Ken Yost, and Darrel Ruud. Interment will held in Lakeside Cemetery, rural Herman, at a later date. Visitation will be held Friday morning from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman. Allen LeRoy Paulson was born on April 22, 1938 in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota to Chester and Agnes Paulson. Allen grew up in Pelican and attended Pelican Rapids High School. On June 16, 1962 Allen married Amy Rostvet of Adams, North Dakota. Together they had five children. Allen worked with his brothers and father in their family business, Paulson Homebuilders. Later he served in the Army and Army Reserves. Allen attended business college and became a draftsman. He worked as a manager of Herman Lumber and later worked for Knox Lumber in Sioux Falls, South Dakota retiring in 2009. Allen enjoyed gardening, music, fishing, family and friends. He was a good father and friend to many. Allen courageously battled cancer for two years without complaining. Allen loved to spend time with his family and loved being a grandpa. Allen passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 peacefully in his home. He was assisted in his final days by his caring wife Amy and Knute Nelson Hospice personnel. Allen is survived by his wife Amy of Herman; sister Anna Mae (James) Ruud of Pelican Rapids, MN; brother Jerry (Marie) Paulson of Fergus Falls, MN; Sons: Bruce Paulson of Anchorage, AK; David (Vanessa) Paulson of Sioux Falls, SD; Kevin Paulson of Valley City, ND; Michael (Tracy) Paulson of Valley City, ND; Brian (Georgette) Paulson of Anchorage, AK; Grandchildren: Hannah, Sarah, Elisabeth, Noah, Josiah (Michael), Shannelle (Brian), Jeremiah (David). Allen was preceded in death by his parents Chester and Agnes Paulson, brother Chester "Chet" Jr. and sister-in- law Janette.
