Alvina Vivian Christianson, age 94, of Wheaton, Minnesota passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton with Pastor David Strom officiating. Organist will be LeAnn Bjornson with special music provided by Dennis Johnson. Visitation will be held Saturday morning one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, rural Wheaton. Pallbearers will be Brad Krenz, Darin Krenz, Jason Krenz, Ryan Krenz, Paul Krenz and Russell Berg. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alvina's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alvina was born January 24, 1920 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota to Christian and Julia (Ericson) Kieland. She graduated from Ulen High School in Ulen, Minnesota in 1938 and attended Normal Training in Wheaton, Minnesota in 1939. She taught rural school in Taylor Township for two years. In 1941 Alvina married Kenneth Carl Krenz. To this union two sons were born Dennis and Larry. Kenneth passed away in 1978. Alvina married Edgar Christianson in 1981 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton. The remainder of Alvina's life was spent in the Wheaton area where she was active in her community. Alvina was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Kenneth and Edgar, four sisters and two brothers. Alvina is survived by two sons: Dennis (Bonita) Krenz and Larry (Nancy) Krenz both of Wheaton; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
