She married John K. Olhoft October 20, 1939 and moved to their family farm west of Norcross, MN. John died in 1965 and Amanda married Helmer Schmidt of Norcross on June 10, 1967. She was a busy homemaker with canning, baking, feeding field workers, cleaning milking equipment and raising poultry using cluck hens as incubators.
