Annette Best

Annette Best passed away on December 17, 2024 at the Lake Region Hospital in Elbow Lake, Minnesota at the age of sixty-six.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Cheryl Berg officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lidgerwood, North Dakota at a later date.

Annette was born February 28, 1958 in Hankinson, North Dakota at the former St. Gerard’s Community Hospital to Roger and Vlasta “Vel” (Neidviecky) Best. Annette was the last born of six children.

Annette was baptized on May 18, 1958 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Lidgerwood, ND and confirmed on March 23, 1975 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton, MN. Annette graduated from Wheaton High School in 1977.

Annette went on to have two children, Curtis and Christina, and raised her children in Wheaton. Once her children were grown, she made a few moves and settled in Hoffman, MN.

Annette loved following her grandchildren’s activities. While cheering on the sideline or watching online she was always quick to send a message after the games. She was their biggest supporter and was so proud of all her grandchildren: Davin, Patrick and Abby.

Annette loved being a crafter most of all. Her wreaths were beautifully handcrafted and showcased her amazing talent.

Annette had a passion for flowers and gardening. She loved to make beautiful and colorful floral arrangements that were picked from the backyard and given as gifts for those she loved.

Annette’s love for dog’s may have surpassed it all- Hope, Callie Jo, and Lil Red.

Annette is survived by her children: Curtis Doll of Dickinson, ND; Christina (Chris) Volker of Chokio, MN; grandchildren: Davin, Patrick and Abigail; her brothers: Marvin (Mary) Best of Albuquerque, NM; Michael (Mila) Best of Glendale, AZ; and Gary (Dawn) Best of Benson, MN; sister-in-law Elayne (Gerald) Best of Eagan, MN; special friend: James (Jim) Stanley of Hoffman, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

Annette is preceded in death by her parents Roger and Vel Best; her brother Gerald Best; and infant sister Kathleen Best.
