Funeral Service for Arnold Raguse, age 96, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Michael Breach officiating. Organist will be Theresa Thiel. Pallbearers will be Donald Beyer, Verdell Berger, Orville Vollmers, Leon Berger, Larry Raguse, Jerry Raguse and Brian Donley. Honorary Pallbeaers will be Melvin Saterbak, Myron Saterbak, Dale Vollmers, Gordon Berger, Todd Mueller, Gary Mueller and Lloyd Vollmers. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wheaton. Visitation will be held Friday evening, October 4th from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. Prayer Service and Time of Sharing at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton. Visitation will continue Saturday morning one hour prior to service time at the church. Arnold was born on March 31, 1917 the son of Herman and Anna Raguse. He was received into God's Kingdom of Grace through Holy Baptism on May 6, 1917 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Monson Township. He confirmed his faith on March 27, 1931. Arnold was born at home in Taylor Township, Traverse County, Minnesota on March 31, 1917. Arnold met his love Evelyn at the President Roosevelt Birthday Ball in Wheaton in 1940. They were engaged on Valentines Day in 1943 and married June 9, 1943. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage together. They were blessed with three children: Douglas, Luana and Paulette. The couple farmed in Taylor Township for three years then bought a farm in Nashua which they farmed until their retirement in 1979. They lived on Pomme De Terre Lake before moving to Wheaton in 1995. They wintered in Weslaco, Texas for over twenty five years and took many trip and tours along the way. Arnold loved serving his Lord and being with family and friends. He loved fishing, dancing, playing cards, pool, golfing and shuffle board. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and Lutheran Laymen League. God received Arnold to himself on September 30, 2013. Arnold is survived by daughters Luana (Jack) Maxwell of Great Falls, Montana; and Paulette Raguse of Breckenridge, Minnesota; daughter-in-law Dianne Raguse of Nashua, Minnesota; grandsons: Dustin Raguse, Darin (Sarah) Raguse, Jesse (Kim) Raguse, James (Amy) Maxwell, Troy (Jessica) Maxwell; great-grandchildren: Sarah, Bryan, Danny, Julie, Ruthanne, Jack, Devin, Kadin, Cobin and Wyatt; brother Marvin Raguse of Wheaton; sisters-in-law: LeIla (Al) Shaw of Boise, Idaho; Gloria Moeller of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arnold was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, son Douglas, parents, brothers: Leonard and Robert; sisters: Cora Beyer, Ida Saterbak, Clara Vollmers, Agnes Berger, Alma Mueller and Doris Donley.
