A Memorial Service for Bernard E. Erickson, 49, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Pastor Mickey Olson officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be his motorcycle buddies and the former and current employees of Ames Construction. A private family interment will take place at a later date. The Ranney Funeral Home of Wheaton, Minnesota is in charge of arrangements. Bernard Eugene Erickson was born on December 18, 1961 in Wheaton, Minnesota to Bernard V. and Beverly (Hanson) Erickson. He was baptized on December 17, 1964 by Rev. John Knox Seaton and confirmed on April 10, 1978 by Rev. Burton Blair at the First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton. In his school years, he was active in Boy Scouts, played basketball and American Legion Baseball. In the summer, he spent a week at Camp Jim in Baxter, Minnesota both as a camper and as a counselor, even in his senior year of high school. He graduated in 1980 from Wheaton High School. Bernie worked since he was fifteen years old. He worked at Jerry Bergers farm, Erickson Oil, Erickson Trucking, Argo Trucking Co., Lake Valley Trucking Co., Prairie Lines, and Ames Construction. He was the steward for the Teamsters Local Union Number 120. His pride possessions were his Harley Davidson, his pickup truck and his 1974 Ralley Super Sport Chevrolet Nova, the first car he bought and was planning to restore. Bernie passed away January 22, 2011 at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Bernard is survived by one son, Bernie M. Erickson, parents, Bernard and Beverly Erickson, one brother, Ron (Jackie) Erickson all of Wheaton, Minnesota and grandchildren, nieces, nephews aunts, uncles and cousins.
