Funeral Mass for Bernardine Agnes Doll, age 94, of Dumont, Minnesota will be held Monday, April 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Fr. Stanley Wieser Celebrant. Organist will be Cindy Sanasack with special music provided by Mike and Kathie Larson. Pallbearers will be Becky Carroll, John Doll, Trina Reuss, Janet Jackson, Amanda Koehn and Jonathan Doll. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bernardine's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday evening, April 20th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service at the Ranney-Bainbridge Funeral Home in Wheaton. Visitation will continue Monday morning one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, rural Dumont. Bernardine Agnes (Wieser) Doll was born December 13, 1919 in Humphrey, Nebraska to Frank and Freda (Foltz) Wieser. She lived with her family on many farms moving to the Wheaton/Dumont area, where she worked for farmers, and in the Wheaton grocery store. During World War II, she moved to California where she worked in the ship yards tracing ship patterns onto metal. Following the war, she met and married John Doll on June 16, 1948. They made their home in Dumont, MN and raised 7 children. Bernardine was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She devoted her life to raising and guiding her children. Bernardine was active in her church and community. She was instrumental in starting the Dumont Legion Auxiliary with Marie Issendorf and served in many offices. Bernardine enjoyed flower gardening and always had blooming flowers around her house. She also had a large vegetable garden that she shared with her family and neighbors. She enjoyed playing games especially cards, dominoes, Yahtzee and bingo. Her favorite pastime was watching the Minnesota Twins and listening to Dick Bremer. Bernardine moved to GraceVillage in 2008, where she enjoyed meeting new friends. She transitioned into Grace Home in February 2014 where she peacefully passed away on Thursday April 17, 2014. Bernardine is survived by seven children: Robert (Karen) Doll of Pine Island, Minnesota; James (Lori) Doll of Wheaton; Judy (Monte) Rahn of Johnson, Minnesota; Alice Doll and husband Mark Forgy of New Prague, Minnesota; Teresa Doll and husband Bill Carroll of West St. Paul, Minnesota; Mary (Dan) Lang of Morris, Minnesota and Cindy (Joe) Koehn of Otsego, Minnesota; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Rita (Merle) Escher of Dumont; and Anna Gilsdorf of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one brother Cyril (Lorraine) Wieser of Trenton, Illinois; four sisters-in-law: Darlene Wieser of Dumont; Bernice Bohnenstingl of Wheaton; Genrose Wieser of Dumont; and Phyllis Wieser of Herman, Minnesota. Bernardine was preceded in death by her husband John, parents Frank and Freda Wieser, great-granddaughter Cortney Staton, six brothers and three sisters.
