Cale Charles Schenck, 43, of Davenport, Iowa, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011. Memorial services in celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 12th at St. Johns United Methodist Church, 14th and Brady, Davenport, where his family will greet friends from 9 am until time of service. Services will also be held in Fargo, ND at 11:00 am Friday, August 19th at First Lutheran Church, 619 Broadway, with visitation from 10 am until time of service. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Sheriffs Department or to Big Brothers Big Sisters. Cale was born in 1968 in Fargo, North Dakota to Harris and Patricia Schenck. He graduated from Moorhead, MN High School and received his bachelors degree from the University of Iowa. Cale also completed post graduate studies in biology and science. On November 20, 1993 he married Mary Benson in Fargo, North Dakota. After their move to Davenport, he owned Garden Ridge Holdings, an investment property management company, and volunteered with the Scott County Sheriffs Dept. He had many passions, including his Golden Retrievers, hunting, classic cars, skiing, and collecting guns. Cale will be remembered for his fun spirit, quick humor, and his love of family and friends, who loved him dearly in return. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; his father, Harris Schenck of Dilworth, Minnesota; his mother, Patricia Schenck of Fargo, North Dakota; his sister, Coco (Tim) Brendemuhl of Moorhead, Minnesota; his father and mother-in-law, David and Connie Benson of Wheaton, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Kristi (Corrie) Wesolowski of Bloomington, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Matt (Cathy) Benson of Burnsville, Minnesota; Schenck cousins; and beloved nieces (2), nephews (3) and many very special friends.
