Carol Kittelson

Carol Kittelson age, 92, of Alexandria, Minnesota, formerly of St. Cloud, Minnesota passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Alomere Hospital in Alexandria, Minnesota.

Memorial Services will be held May 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church.

Carol Ruth Kittelson was born September 3, 1926 to Hilmar and Alma (Arneson) Olson in Stoney Run Township, Yellow Medicine County, MN. She and her siblings grew up in Montevideo, MN, graduating from Montevideo High School.

Carol married Ralph Kittelson January 15, 1948 and together they farmed in the Appleton area for 21 years. They bought and operated a motel from 1970-1976 in Vermillion SD. Carol went on to work as a legal secretary while attending the University of South Dakota studying art. She was as avid artist concentrating on oil paintings.

In 1984 she moved to St. Cloud, MN where she continued her oil painting and worked at Dayton's for several years. She loved being able to help someone find just the right dress to wear for special occasions.

Carol married Bob Hill February 14, 1992. They had a grand time traveling together.

She was involved in Bethlehem Lutheran Church choir, circle, Befrienders and the quilters. In her "retirement" Carol volunteered at the St. Cloud hospital for many years, belonged to PEO and was involved with several bridge groups.

She loved spending time with family and friends, entertaining, attending concerts, reading, knitting, needlepoint, oil painting, singing, playing piano, decorating her home and making the best lefse ever.

She always had a song in her heart and a welcoming smile for everyone she met.

Carol is survived by her daughters Kristen (Gordy) Anderson of Cornucopia, WI; Gwen (Kent) Baldry of Pelican Rapids, MN; Susan (Mark) Baldry of Dumont, MN; Barbara (Mike) Kabeiseman of Yankton SD; her son's partner Paula Frank of Bloomington, MN; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many cherished friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her dear son, Stephen Kittelson, spouses Ralph and Bob, great-grandson Gaven Baldry, brothers Speed, Steve and Paul D Olson, sisters Bru Borgendale and LeNore Olson, brothers-in-law Leo Borgendale and Paul M. Olson, sisters-in-law Jill and June Olson.
