Carol Weick

Funeral Service for Carol C. Weick (Mrs. Howard), 76, of Whitney, Texas will be held Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Siloah Lutheran Church, Parnell Township, Traverse County, Minnesota with Pastor John Ragan officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brian Hosterman, Seth Weick, Chad Rowland and Cory Rowland. Interment will be in Siloah Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 18th from 7:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with an 8:00 P.M. Prayer Service at Siloah Lutheran Church. The Ranney Funeral Home of Wheaton, Minnesota is in charge of arrangements. Carol Charmaine (Niesche) Weick was born on December 25, 1933 in Wheaton, Minnesota to Edward and Nora (Torgerson) Niesche. Carol was baptized and confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton. She graduated from Wheaton High School in 1952, where she was elected Homecoming Queen. Carol was united in marriage to Howard D. Weick on September 19, 1952 at The Little Brown Church in Vale, Chickasaw County, Nashua, Iowa. To this union three children were born: Terry, Steve and Sandy. Together with their children they resided in the surrounding communities of Graceville, Barry and Dumont. In 1978 they moved to Midlothian, Texas for three years, before returning to Minnesota in the Park Rapids area. They made their final move back to Whitney, Texas where they have resided since 1991. Carol loved spending time with her family and many friends. Carol enjoyed working on word puzzles, crocheting, shopping, playing cards and being very organized. Carol passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010 at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield, Texas. Carol is survived by her husband, Howard Weick of Whitney, Texas, three children: Terry (Ronda) Weick of Whitney, Texas, Steve (Dana) Weick of Whitney, Texas and Sandy (Ed) Rowland of Otsego, Minnesota, five grandchildren: Brian, Seth, Amanda, Chad and Cory, ten great-grandchildren, nineteen brothers and sisters in law, and many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, Vina, and seven brothers and sisters in law.
