Carolyn Virginia Nelson

On March 12, 2024, Carolyn Nelson, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at Tekakwitha Living Center in Sisseton, South Dakota, at the age of 82. Carolyn is survived by her caring husband, Roger, of 63 years, her children, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, her brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, her life-long family friends, special neighbors who became family, and many more loving relatives.

Carolyn leaves behind a legacy of laughs and many stories full of her spit fire and grit. As many can attest to, she was small in stature but had unfathomable strength. Her feisty nature was what so many of us loved her for. She always held a special place in everyone's heart that knew her. She was everyone's friend and everyone's Grandma.

Carolyn will be greatly missed by her loved ones and always remembered in their hearts. Her family is sincerely grateful to the many friends and those nearest and dearest who have shown support during this time of loss.
