Funeral Service for Carrie Mae Oscarson, 94, of rural Wheaton, Minnesota, will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bethlehem Covenant Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Tim Shekleton officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 11th from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service at the Bethlehem Covenant Church in Wheaton. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton. Carrie Mae Oscarson was born on July 22, 1913, in Annamoose, North Dakota, the daughter of Rev. Merion and Victoria (Switzer) Roser. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith in the Evangelical Church in November of 1925 by her father. As a small child, the family moved to Minnesota where her father pastored several churches. Carrie graduated from the Wheaton High School in 1930 and graduated from Normal Teachers Training in 1931. She taught country school for seven years. Carrie was athletic, she played on the Wheaton High School girls basketball team, as did her best friend Delores Oscarson. Delores introduced Carrie to her brother, Walter, and on December 29th, 1937 she married Walter Oscarson. They were married for 66 years, actively farming the family farm for 34 years. Donn Oscarson is her first born, Jeanne Spafford is her second child. She loved her family, the babies were her specialty. She also loved her home and church. Her passion was baking & cooking delicious meals. She is well remembered for her hospitality. She loved to bowl and was proud of her 130 average. She enjoyed her Covenant Circles and Homemakers Club. Carrie loved to play whist and she loved to win. She took pride in her gardening and lawn care. Carrie empathized with the elderly, taking care of her aged parents and Walters parents. She was a Sunday School teacher and she taught confirmation. Carrie was active in the Christian Womens Club, and enjoyed hosting their Prayer Coffees in her home. Carrie died peacefully on Friday September 7, 2007 at her home. She is survived by her son, Donn (Emma) Oscarson of Wheaton, MN; her daughter, Jeanne (Joe) Spafford of Bloomington, MN; four grandchildren: John (Char) Oscarson of Altadena, California, Kari Jo (Jeffrey) Hurst of Cottage Grove, MN; Angel (Randy) Mercier of Folson, California, and Steven Spafford of Bloomington, MN, Eight great-grandchildren: Matthew (Amanda) Peterson, Samantha Hand, Berklie Oscarson, Hayden Mercier, Jessica Hand, Mac Kenzie Mercier, Ellie Oscarson and Victoria Hurst, three great-great-grandchildren: Ariana Diaz, Alaina Flowers and Jordan Peterson, as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Bethlehem Covenant Church.
