Catherine Bowden
Catherine Bowden, age 84, a Herman resident of 69 years passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman with Rev. Dave Hanssen officiating. Organist will be Olivia Richards with special music provided by Gregory Sperr. Visitation will be held Thursday starting at 12:30 p.m. at the church. Inurnment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, rural Herman. Catherine was born in Hillsboro, North Dakota on September 3, 1930 to Casper and Laura Hanson. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on November 9, 1930. The family moved to Herman in September of 1946. She was a 1948 graduate of Herman High School and attended Interstate Business School in Fargo, North Dakota, returning to Herman where she worked in her father's drug store. John Lommel purchased the store in 1980. She continued to work there until 2000 when the store closed. She was a longtime active member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Catherine is survived by her son Craig C. Bowden and his wife Deborah and their children Abbott and Dashiell of Neshkoro, Wisconsin; and two sisters Phyllis Hanson of Herman; and Lorraine Hanson of Eagan, Minnesota.
