Christy Johnson, age 76, of Wheaton, MN passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at her residence in Wheaton.

Christy Gay Jenkins was born March 1, 1945 in Newport, Oregon to William H. and Dorothy (Ratchye) Jenkins. She graduated in 1963 from Lavaca High School in Lavaca, Arkansas. Christy graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1967 and continued her education at Oregon Medical College in Portland, Oregon for one year as an intern in dietetics. In 1976, she was the administrative dietician at Wilcox Hospital in Lihue, Hawaii being listed as a faculty member of the University of Hawaii. Christy met Bob Johnson while in Hawaii and the couple were married. They moved from Hawaii to New Mexico, then Nebraska and finally Wheaton, MN. Bob passed away on September 13, 2020.

Christy loved bowling in the local bowling league. She was proud to be a cancer survivor. Christy was very fond of her nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews who are spread all over the country. Christy was active in 4-H throughout her youth where she became an animal lover caring for many pets throughout her life. She was an active member of the Methodist Church in her youth. Christy was great to keep in contact with friends in all the places she lived, leaving a trail of friends throughout the country.

Christy is survived by her brothers: Thomas (Barbara) Jenkins of Hastings, Nebraska; Richard (Karen) Jenkins of San Antonio, Texas; step-children Charlie and Vanessa; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Christy was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Due to COVID concerns, a public service will be held in the spring.
