Danny Jorschumb, age 61, of Wheaton, Minnesota passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton with Rev. Michael Breach officiating. Organist will be Theresa Thiel.
Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Keavney, Tim Siegel, Doug Wilson, Bruce Wilson, Tom Boehmlehner and David Leininger.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 13th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton. Visitation will continue Thursday morning one hour prior to service time at the church.
Danny "Dan" Jorschumb was born February 13, 1956 in Graceville, Minnesota to Arthur and Elaine (Hilleren) Jorschumb. He was baptized, confirmed and was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton. He attended school in Wheaton where upon graduation he received a letter of commendation from President Gerald Ford "Thirteen Years of Perfect Attendance".
Dan lived his entire life in Wheaton where he farmed with his dad and brother. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast, both as a fan and as a participant. He was a member of the Dumont Saints baseball team as well as an announcer for their games. He was very involved with high school sports; running the clock and keeping stats at the basketball games. Dan also covered the games for the Wheaton Gazette, writing articles for them for a number of years.
Since being confined to his wheelchair in 2008, he lived at Prairieview Place in Wheaton before moving into the Traverse Care Center where he lived until his death.
Dan enjoyed playing pool, bowling and golf. He also loved to play cards with his family and friends. As a fan he rarely missed a game of the Minnesota Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves, Wild and Gophers.
Danny is survived by his mother Elaine Jorschumb of Wheaton; two brothers: Allen Jorschumb (Sandy Rosenkranz) of Wheaton; and Dean Jorschumb (Denna Linscott) of Redwood Falls, MN; brother-in-law Bill Nicklay of Rochester, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt, uncles and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his father Art; and sister Jane Nicklay.
