Dennis was united in marriage to Kathleen Warholm on December 11, 1971 in Wheaton. Three children were born to this union, Crystal, Randy and Shanna. Dennis farmed on the family farm and he and Kathy built a new home on that farm in 1972. Dennis farmed until 2008 when he decided to focus solely on his combine header trailer business. Dennis enjoyed all hunting including deer and pheasants. Dennis was a member of the Traverse County Sportsman Club. Conservation was important to Dennis as evident by the number of trees planted around the family farm and the feeding of deer and pheasants. Another hobby Dennis loved was riding his Victory motorcycle. He and Kathleen and friends made their first bike trip to Sturgis over the last summer. Dennis enjoyed the lakes for fishing and skiing, he and Kathy double skied this summer for the first time in many years. Dennis and Kathy also gardened near the house, and this summers project was a beautiful flower bed where the original farmhouse had been recently torn down. Dennis couldnt go anywhere without his trusted companion, golden retriever Sammy at his side. He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church his entire life where he was baptized and confirmed. Dennis always took time to visit with people and could carry a conversation with anyone. He was known for lengthy phone conversations with family and friends. Dennis loved his family dearly, and especially enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren.
