On November 2, 2005, Dolores (Dee) Worner passed away after a long struggle with Post-Polio Syndrome. Dee was bom to Samuel and Alphia Leslie on September 30, 1921, in Graceville, MN. She is survived by children Ron (Mary Ann) Worner, Jim (Jeannine) Worner, Debra (Tom) Lindsay, her eight grandchildren, Paul Worner, Traci (Andy) Friede, Jay Worner, Tara Worner, Tim Worner, Ryan (Shannon) Lindsay, Mike Lindsay, Brenna Lindsay, and great grandchildren, Tyier James Hanks and baby boy, Lindsay. She is also survived by her sister, Edythe, and many nieces and nephews. After graduating from Wheaton High School in 1939, she attended Minneapolis Business School. While living and working in Minneapolis, she contracted polio. She married her high school sweetheart and love other life, Elmer (Bud) Worner, January 16, 1943. Bud and Dee traveled extensively during his years in the Air Force and eventually settled at 1306 Elm Ave. North in Wheaton. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Wheaton Auto Co. with her husband. Bud. Her career continued with Larson's Inc., as well as free lance work with various local businesses. She was also the treasurer for the First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton for 23 years. Her many loves included her family and friends, reading, watching sports, and her cat. Wimpy. Dee's faith helped to carry her through life and also in death. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 5, at 10:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton, with Rev. Deb Crusan officiating. Visitation will be Friday, November 4 from 5:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Ranney Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, rural Wheaton. The Ranney Funeral Home of Wheaton, is in charge of arrangements.
