Donald Harold Forcier was born on May 15, 1931 to Delbert and Sadie (Wolff) Forcier in rural Stewart, MN. He attended St. Peter's Parochial School through eighth grade and graduated from West Central School of Agriculture in Morris, MN in 1948. Don entered the U.S. Navy in 1950 as an aviation electrician and served four years, mostly stationed in Japan. After his honorable discharge he returned to Dumont and married Darlys Hauschild on June 22, 1957 at St. Peter's in Dumont and they were blessed with three daughters: Lori, Jill and Karla. They made their home in Dumont where Don farmed with his dad. He was also employed with Carlson Implement of Wheaton and later Continental Telephone Co., working his way up to central office equipment man. He retired in November 1992 after twenty-four years.
Don had a great sense of humor and easily made friends. He always had a joke and loved all kinds of music. Anyone who knew him could tell you his favorite color was red. Don also loved traveling, especially taking the "roads less traveled" to see what he could discover taking friends and family along with him on his adventures. He enjoyed many years of hunting with friends and family both at home and out west. He loved nature and saw beauty in everything. In later years he enjoyed gardening, golfing, attending Saints baseball games and spending time at the farm. He was a long time member of the Dumont/Wheaton American Legion and VFW, Dumont Fire Department, Graceville Gun Club, St. Peter's Catholic Church and later Ave Maria Church.
Don is survived by his wife Darlys Forcier of Dumont; two daughters: Jill (Mark) Baier of Gillette, Wyoming; and Karla (Zane) Forcier of Bloomington, Minnesota; two grandchildren: Stephanie (Mitch) Feterl of Spearfish, South Dakota; and Drew (Kirsten) Baier of Denver, Colorado; one sister Shirley Gunderson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and two brothers: Fred (Judy) Forcier of Seattle, Washington; and Tom (Laura) Forcier of Bullhead City, Arizona.
Don was preceded in death by his daughter Lori; parents Delbert and Sadie (Wolff) Forcier; and sister Ruth Diekman.
