Funeral Service for Donald LeRoy Olson, 90, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Monday, November 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton with Rev. Thomas Olson officiating. Organist will be Sara Rinke with special music provided by Kirk Humbert. Pallbearers will be John Fridgen, Kevin Deal, Greg Kessler, Mark Kulenkamp, Brandon Kulenkamp and August Kessler. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Mathias, Ervin Simpson, Mike Fox and All of Donalds family and friends . Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton. Visitation will be held Monday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Donald LeRoy Olson was born on April 19, 1920 in Wahpeton, North Dakota to Albert and Hilva (Johnson) Olson. Donald attended school in Wheaton. Following his education Don was united in marriage to Shirley Kuentzel. Shortly after marriage, Don entered the Army Air Force where he served as an airplane electrical mechanic and pilot during WWII. After his time in the service, Don and Shirley moved to North St. Paul, Minnesota where Don worked at 3M for 42 years. Don loved to work on anything with motion. He loved hunting and fishing in the Wheaton and White Rock areas, but his greatest thrill was always airplanes. Donald passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. Donald is survived by two daughters: Sherry (Greg) Kessler of Anoka, Minnesota and Debra (Mark) Kulenkamp of Mora, Minnesota, one brother: Kenneth Olson of Seattle, Washington, five grandchildren: Helva (Kirk) Humbert of Anoka, Minnesota, Krystle and Brandon Kulenkamp of Mora, Minnesota, August Kessler of Hopkins, Minnesota and Greg Kessler of Anoka, Minnesota. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters: Leona, Gloria and Leah, and four brothers: Archie, Jerry, Albert Cotton , and Brice.
