Doris Warholm

Doris Warholm, age 96, of Wheaton, Minnesota passed away March 23, 2021 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem Covenant Church in Wheaton with Pastor Tim Shekleton officiating. Organist will be Cheryl Shekleton with special music by the Bethlehem Covenant Church Worship Team.

Interment will be in Zion Mission Cemetery, rural Wheaton. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, and honorary pallbearers will be her friends.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church.

Doris Lucille (Sellden) Warholm was born in Collis, Minnesota on September 24, 1924 to Martin and Edna (Walz) Sellden. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dumont, MN. She grew up on a farm outside of Dumont and attended a one room school with all eight grades. She graduated from Wheaton High School in 1943.

On December 15, 1944 Doris married Marlo Warholm of rural Wheaton, MN and became a fulltime farm wife. The union was blessed with three children: Jean, Dale and Kathleen.

In 1988 Doris and Marlo retired from farming. They enjoyed going camping on Stalker Lake, fishing with grandchildren and themselves. They spent time visiting with friends, playing cards, and sitting in the garage watching birds, pheasants and deer; something that gave them much pleasure. After Marlo passed away on February 13, 2011, she continued to live on the farm. In November of 2011 she moved to Prairieview where she enjoyed visiting with the residents, playing cards and bingo. Due to health conditions, she was transferred to the Traverse Care Center on May 15, 2019 where she touched many lives until her passing.

Doris was active in the Zion Mission Church until it dissolved. Afterward Doris and Marlo joined the Bethlehem Covenant Church where she remained a faithful member for the remainder of her life. She was also active in the Homemakers Club for many years.

Doris was a gentle, kind soul, hardworking and generous. Her hospitality was extraordinary, always welcoming others and sharing a meal with whomever stopped by.

Doris is survived by her three children: Jean (Glen) Drafahl of Wheaton; Dale (Diane) Warholm of Burnsville, MN; and Kathleen Klugman (friend Duane) of Wheaton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother Louis Sellden of Wheaton; sister-in-law Leona Warholm of Wahpeton, ND; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Marlo; parents Martin and Edna Sellden; brother Gilbert Sellden; sisters: Bernice Johnson and Gladys Nielsen; brothers-in-law: Myron Johnson, Harry Nielsen and John Warholm; sisters-in-law: Darlene and Val Sellden.

May she forever rest in peace in the arms of her Savior, Jesus our Lord.
