Dorothy B. Kaess, age 99, of Wheaton, Minnesota passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton with Fr. Stanley Wieser Celebrant. Organist will be Cindy Sanasack with special music provided by Mike and Kathie Larson and the Ave Maria Catholic Church Choir. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, rural Wheaton, at a later date. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dorothy's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service at the Bainbridge Funeral Home in Wheaton. Visitation will continue Thursday morning one hour prior to service time at the church. Dorothy (Elrite) Kaess was born on July 7, 1915 in Clinton, Minnesota to George and Anna (Cook) Elrite. She married Joe Kaess in Coure de Lane, Idaho in 1942. Joe passed away in 1977.Dorothy was a member of Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton. She was a waitress for many years and also worked at the Wheaton Public Schools for several years. Dorothy was a past President of the VFW Auxiliary. She loved to garden, crochet, cook and play cards with her friends. Dorothy is survived by her son Ron (Susan) Kaess of Graceville, Minnesota; grandson Ryan (Amy) Kaess of Eagan, Minnesota; granddaughter Renee (Matt) Drewicke of Herman, Minnesota; great-grandchildren: Shane, Paige and Skyler Kaess and James, Jacob and Emily Drewicke; and one brother Richard (Rosie) Elrite of Sun City, California. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and eight of her nine siblings.
