Duane Bock

Funeral Service for Duane LeMoyne Bock, 56, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Friday, September 26, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bethlehem Covenant Church, Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Thomas Olson officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be All of Duanes family and friends . Interment will be at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wheaton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday. Duane was born on September 14, 1952 in Breckenridge, Minnesota to LeMoyne and June (Armbruster) Bock. Duane was baptized on October 10, 1952 and confirmed May 8, 1966 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton. He grew up in Wheaton and graduated from Wheaton High School in 1970. From there he pursued a career in the Food Service Industry, managing restaurants and large cooperate cafeterias, including Concordia College, Prudential, ARA, and Sperry/Una-Vac. Duane was married on June 22, 1974 to Kay Eschenbacher. To this union a son, Lee Bock, was born in May of 1977. In 1991 Duane and Lee moved to Wheaton where he managed the Wheaton Liquor Store. He then moved on to the Traverse County Social Services where he could help others. Duane served on the West Central Community Actions Board of directors for 10 years where he enjoyed helping those in need. Duane enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cooking, gardening, lawn care, collecting coins, model trains, and caring for his two dogs Jack and Zeus . Duane was always willing to help anyone that he could and enjoyed spending time with friends. Duane passed away September 19, 2008 at his residence in Wheaton with his family present, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Duane is survived by his son: Lee (Kristina) Bock of Wheaton, Father: LeMoyne Bock of Wheaton, Sister: Janis Cook of Palm Springs, California, Grandchildren: Mariah and Logan Bock of Wheaton, Uncles: Willy (Barb) Bock of Wheaton and Rev. Gordon (Ruth) Bock of Wheaton, Aunts: Karen Kenney of San Diego, California, Joyce Bock of Woodbury, Minnesota, Fern Koch of Wheaton, Doris Gilsdorf of Graceville, Minnesota, and Burnys Koch of Chokio, Minnesota. Duane was preceded in death by his Mother: June, Grandson: Benjamin, Paternal Grandparents: Walter and Esther Bock, Maternal Grandparents: Ben and Georgia Armbruster, Uncles: Marvin Armbruster, Donald Armbruster and Kenneth Bock and Aunt: Joyce Beyer.
