When she was a baby she rode in a covered wagon from Sandstone to southern Minnesota. On May 2, 1932 she was confirmed in Wheaton, Minnesota. She was raised in Browns Valley, Minnesota graduating from Browns Valley High School. She then attended college for one year in Morris, Minnesota. Edna was married to Otto Fibranz on November 5, 1928 in Wheaton, Minnesota by Rev. Heine. The couple made their home in Beardsley, Minnesota where they raised three boys, James, Lyle and Melvin. Edna worked as a waitress when she wasnt working at home. Edna and Otto loved to travel. Edna also loved to hunt and fish. She was active in Ladies Aid Circle, and Birthday Club. During her life she crocheted many afghans for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her later years, she loved going to the Senior Center and drove a car until she was 99 years old. Edna and her sisters were very competitive with each other and loved to play cards and board games. Her great-grandchildren remember playing video games at her house and watching old home movies on the projector. Ednas parents didnt give her a middle name. She always said it was because they had too many kids and ran out of names. For her confirmation she had them put an initial of M. and later said her middle name was Nadine. Her grandchildren loved her peppernuts and now are making them for their families. She loved getting kisses on the cheek from one of her great-granddaughters husband and she would always try to sneak more. Edna passed away at her residence on May 30, 2010. Edna is survived by two sons: Jim (Rita) Fibranz of Wheaton, Minnesota and Lyle (Jere) Fibranz of Anchorage, Alaska, nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
