Emma Leininger

Funeral Service for Emma Leininger, 101, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton with Rev. Howard Jording officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike & Paula Johnson, Rick Mellies & Harriet Dittes, Joe & Julie Teberg, Janet Barlage, & Scott Leininger. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wheaton. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 19, 2006 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Ranney Funeral Home in Wheaton, and one hour prior to services at the church Thursday. Emma was born on April 6, 1905. She was the daughter on William and "Lena" (Caroline Issendorf) Rinke. She was called from this life to eternal life on July 17, 2006. Emma attained the age on 101 years, 3 months, and 17 days. Emma was baptized May 14, 1905 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Dumont, Minnesota and confirmed April 25, 1920 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton. Emma was a member of Parnell Lutheran church, St. John's Lutheran Church of Dumont and St. John Lutheran Church of Wheaton. She enjoyed being a member of the Ladies Aid. Emma was married on October 1, 1924 to Paul Leininger. They farmed in the Parnell area until they moved to Dollymount Township where they bought a farm. In the mid 1940's, Paul bought the Moline Implement in Wheaton. She moved with Paul to Wheaton where they lived until November of 1994 when they both moved to the Traverse Care Center. The couple was blessed with three sons and one daughter. Emma is survived by two brothers: Henry and wife Ann of Wheaton, William and wife Esther of Morris,one son-in-law Eugene Fridgen of Wheaton, 8 grandchildren: Richard (Harriet Dittes) Mellies of Prinsburg, MN, Julie (Joel) Teberg of Fergus Falls, MN, Dwight (Teresa) Leininger of Loveland, CO, Janet (DeWayne) Barlage of Big Lake, MN, Greg (Renee) of Hastings, NE, Scott (Jean) of Milbank, SD, Paula (Mike) Johnson of Cody, WY and Michael Leininger of MT, 13 Great grandchildren: Michael Mellies, Connie Rose, Craig Sweere, Bodray Teberg, Curtis and Laurie Barlage, Lindsey and Stephanie Leininger, Justin Feik, Aaron Leininger, Bryan Rodemacher, Emily and Katie Johnson, 4 Great - great grandchildren: Samatha and Shawn Mellies, Sierra and Teaghan Rose, and many nephews and nieces. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers: Arthur, Ervin, Alfred, Glendon and Lester, 3 sons: an infant son Ervin, Ronald and wife Elsie, Wilferd and wife Harriett, daughter Opal Mellies Fridgen and first husband Ray Mellies, 2 grandsons Mark and Miles Leininger.
