Funeral Service for Ervin Boehmlehner, age 88, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton with Rev. Michael Breach officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Boehmlehner, Tom Boehmlehner, Shawn Dobberstein, Craig Ehlers, Dareld Klemm and Verney Klemm. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wheaton. Visitation will be held Friday evening, March 7th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service and Time of Sharing at Ranney-Bainbridge Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Saturday morning one hour prior to service time at the church. Ervin Eric Boehmlehner was born on September 5, 1925 in Croke Township, Traverse County, Minnesota to John and Ida (Goltz) Boehmlehner. He was baptized on September 20, 1925 and confirmed on June 30, 1940 both at St. John Lutheran Church. He grew up on the family farm attending country school at District 45. After his education he continued farming as well as raising cattle, geese and silver fox. Ervin also custom combined corn around the area for many years. He was united in marriage to Mary Miller on November 23, 1968 in Hankinson, North Dakota. Mary passed away September 21, 2006. Ervin liked to spend time bowling, hunting fox, flying his airplane and spearing fish with his brothers-in-law Donnie Ehlers and Harvey Totzke. He enjoyed Thursday cattle sales in Sisseton, rarely leaving without their homemade pie. Ervin was thoroughly fond of coffee time at Homers. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family. Ervin passed away March 5, 2014 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton. Ervin is survived by his son Shannon Boehmlehner of Wheaton; two step-sons: Shawn Miller of Wahpeton, North Dakota and Shane Miller of Breckenridge, Minnesota; sister Vyonne Totzke of Wheaton; brother-in-law Ervin Klemm of Wheaton; step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Ervin was preceded in death by his wife Mary; parents John and Ida Boehmlehner; sisters Alice Klemm and Esther Ehlers and brother Arnold Boehmlehner.
