Funeral Service for Esther Gladys Ehlers, 82, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Charles Horkey officiating. Organist will be Sara Rinke with special music by Lynae Berger. Pallbearers will be Tom Boehmlehner, Steve Boehmlehner, Dareld Klemm, Verney Klemm, Shannon Boehmlehner and Shawn Dobberstein. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 10th from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service at the St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton. Esther Gladys Boehmlehner was born at home in Traverse County, Minnesota to John and Ida (Goltz) Boehmlehner on June 20, 1927. She worked as a clerk for the J.C. Penney Store before meeting Donald Ehlers. Esther and Donald were united in marriage on September 28, 1949. They were blessed with three children, Nira, Marilyn and Larry. Esthers family was very important to her and she liked it when they could all get together. She worked on the farm with Donald for many years. When the Duebers Store came to Wheaton she helped to set it up and was the manager for many years. Esther passed away early Sunday morning, November 8, 2009 at Meritcare Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. Esther is survived by two children: Larry (Linda) Ehlers of Wheaton, and Marilyn Sather of Fargo, North Dakota, Grandchildren: Krista (Rob) Martini, Craig Ehlers, Sheila Mesker, Donny Mesker, Alicia (Dan) Carr, Sara Gerraughty, and Brad Sather, nine Great-Grandchildren, one Brother: Ervin Boehmlehner, one sister: Vyonne Totzke both of Wheaton, Brothers-in-law: Lyle Ehlers of Portland, Oregon and Vernon (Viola) Ehlers of Wheaton, and many nieces and nephews. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Donald, Daughter: Nira Mesker, Son-in-law: David Mesker, Grandson: Kevin Ehlers, Brother: Arnold Boehmlehner, and Sister: Alice Klemm.
