Funeral Mass for Florence Vollmers, 87, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held on Friday, November 4, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Fr. Stanley Wieser celebrant. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 3, 2005 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service at the Ranney Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in St. Peters Catholic Cemetery, Dumont, Minnesota. The Ranney Funeral Home of Wheaton, Minnesota is in charge of arrangements. Florence was born on July 4, 1918 in rural Dumont, Minnesota to Fred and Emma (Zabell) Lohndorf. She attended school in Dumont, Wheaton High School, and business college in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Florence married Clarence Vollmers on September 12, 1939 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Dumont. They had one son, Roger. Until retiring in 1982 they farmed near Dumont and then moved to Herman, Minnesota. Winters were enjoyed in the South. Clarence died November 8, 1991. Florence moved to Wheaton in 1996. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading as well as playing cards and yahtzee with friends. Florence passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at Meritcare Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. Florence is survived by her sons: Roger (Rita) Vollmers of Oslo, Minnesota, one grandson: Michael Bentley of Devils Lake, North Dakota, special nieces: Sharon (Don) Rittenour of Nashua, Minnesota, and Shirley (Roy) Hormann of Wheaton, Minnesota, and special friend and cousin: Dorothy Stange of Wheaton, Minnesota. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Malinda Stange.
