Fred Smith

Fred Smith, age 70, of Wheaton, Minnesota passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Wildwood Cemetery in Wheaton. All are welcome to attend.

Fred LeRoy Smith was born November, 14, 1947 in Napa, California. With the passing of Fred this past week, two souls were once again reunited. For three years there has been someone waiting for Fred to be with her again, and now the wait is over. The love Fred and Harriet shared here on earth, will now be shared forever in Heaven.

When you see all of the heart felt wishes from his family and friends you cannot help but notice that it is almost impossible to mention one without mentioning the other. Fred and Harriet. This is how it has been since they first got together back in 1966 and how it remained over the years. Even with Harriet's passing three years ago, it was always Fred and Harriet, two hearts, one soul.

As sad as Fred's passing is, it was really more of a blessing considering who was waiting for him on the other side. Fred isn't lonely anymore and for that, we should all be happy for him. When the time comes to lay him to rest, his ashes will be put in the same urn as Harriet's and both of them will be laid to rest together, never to be separated again.

Fred is survived by his three children: Donna L. Smith of Lincoln, Nebraska; Eddie L. Smith of Red Bluff, California; and Dianna L. Smith of Milpitas, California; seven grandchildren: Ashley Welsh, Diahna Welsh, Suavanna Cardwell, Cameron Clark, Tyler Smith, Jayden Braness and Kyra Clark; four great-grandchildren: Payton Peery, Aubree Abbot, William (Wylee) Agyemian, and Rayland Abbot; brother Bill Smith and brother-in-law Don Feger.

Fred was preceded in death by his beautiful bride of forty-eight years Harriet (Feger) Smith.
