Gary Grieger

Gary Dean Grieger, age 61, of Herman, Minnesota passed away Friday, June 26, 2015 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman with Rev. David Hanssen officiating. Organist will be Sandy Fabian with special music provided by Greg Sperr, Nichole Bergerson and Sandy Fabian. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery at a later date. Honorary Urn bearers will be Gary's grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends. Gary was born January 20, 1954 in Fargo, North Dakota to Laurn and Ida (Pronovost) Grieger. The family moved to Erie, North Dakota when Gary was in the first grade. They later moved to Horace, North Dakota where he completed his education at West Fargo High School. Gary was united in marriage on May 16, 1975 to Joan Haggerty and the couple resided in Horace. He moved to Ridgecrest, California in 1989 where he worked as a transmission technician at a Ford dealership. Gary moved back to Fargo, North Dakota and then to Herman, Minnesota in 1997. Gary worked for Groth Ford in Herman and Wheaton, Minnesota. After working at Groth Ford he attended Alexandria Technical and Community College. He earned an AAS in Computer Networking. Gary was united in marriage to Sherry Fabian on July 14, 2001 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman. He finished his work career at Douglas Machine in Alexandria, Minnesota. Gary enjoyed mowing and taking care of his lawn mower. In his younger years he enjoyed billiards, flying remote control airplanes and owned several 1969 Chevelles. He was a kindhearted man, devoted husband, dog lover, and always willing to assist his mother-in-law. Gary is survived by his wife Sherry Grieger of Herman; daughter: Jennifer (Jim) Rud and their children Brady, Carter and Alex of Fargo, North Dakota; son: Christopher (Erin) Grieger and their children Hailey and Damien of Ft. Collins, Colorado; siblings: Ron (Juanita) Grieger of Ridgecrest, California; Rick Grieger of Gwinner, North Dakota; Linda (Roger) Johnson of Gwinner, North Dakota; and Sandy Watson (special friend Jim) of Las Vegas, Nevada; mother-in-law Margaret Fabian of Herman; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Marlene.
