Funeral Service for Gerald Peter Frisch, 87, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Monday, June 22, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Fr. Joe Vandeberg officiating. Organist will be Cindy Sanasack. Pallbearers will be Colt Violet, Trent Conroy, Clayton Conroy, Bryanna Shablow, Joe Dobransky, Kelsey Conroy, Chris Conroy, Jennifer Orr and Andrew Conroy. Honorary Pallbearers will be All of Jerrys other Grandchildren , Bill Lorimer, Julia Lorimer, Tara Kuker, Lisa Morris, Jim Conroy, Jason Conroy, Patti Conroy, Jeremy Conroy, Dan Conroy, Sandra Jezeirski, Kiara Lick, Scott Conroy, Adam Conroy, Anna Conroy, Blake Conroy, Michael Dobransky, Daniel Dobransky, James Shablow, Zach Conroy and Karli Conroy. Interment will be in St. Peters Catholic Cemetery, Dumont, Minnesota. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 21st from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Ranney Funeral Home in Wheaton. Gerald Peter Frisch was born in Geneve Depot, Wisconsin on July 17, 1921 to Pauline (Schmitz) and Michael Peter Frisch. Jerry attended St. Peters Parochial School through the 8th grade and then transferred to Wheaton High School, graduating in 1939. He then began farming in Dollymont Township, Traverse County, Minnesota. During his winters Jerry enjoyed traveling, as a tour guide in Hawaii, and to numerous foreign lands including the Holy Land and Egypt. He also enjoyed gardening and raising exotic plants, including orchids, lemon and lime trees. In 1997, Gerald received from Traverse County and the University of Minnesota Extension Service a master gardener certificate. During the summer he and his mother enjoyed being at Lake Traverse between the Muellenbach and Rausch cabins. Jerry married Marjorie (Hervert) Conroy in 1973. Jerry and Marge continued to enjoy traveling together in their motor home. They took many trips abroad including New Zealand, Spain, Hawaii, Alaska and Medjugorje, Bosnia. During the summer, Jerry and Marge enjoyed spending time at their cabin on Lake Traverse fishing, swimming, and boating on the Queen Marge Barge with the very large family Jerry inherited from Marge. Jerry was one of the biggest kids at the lake and during Christmas and birthday get-togethers. Jerry retired from farming in 1988. He entered the Traverse Care Center in 2004 where he loved to joke with staff and laughed out loud often. Jerry was a life long resident of Traverse County. Jerry passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Traverse Care Center on June 18, 2009. Jerry is survived by his wife: Marge of Wheaton, three sisters: Genrose Wieser of Dumont, Minnesota, Lenore (Pete) Muellenbach of Wheaton, and Loretta Rausch of Rosholt, South Dakota, children: Pat (Gaylord) Marcus of Andover, Minnesota, Bill (Bea) Conroy of Oregon City, Oregon, Dan (Kathie) Conroy of Naples, Florida, Ron (Lynn) Conroy of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Tom (Marcie) Conroy of Wheaton, Colleen Violet of Wheaton, John (Adeline) Conroy of Milbank, South Dakota, Donna Dobransky of Willmar, Minnesota, Denise (Brian) Shablow of Shoreview, Minnesota, and Mike (Tami) Conroy of Wheaton, one daughter-in-law: Sandra Conroy of Dumont, Minnesota, twenty-nine grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by one son: James Conroy, one grandson: Steven Conroy, one granddaughter: Theresa Conroy, one great-grandson: Mitchell Lorimer, and one nephew: Dennis Rausch.
