Funeral Service for Glady Lindig, 89, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Thomas Olson officiating. Pallbearers will be Kayla Haas, Darcy Haas, Karl & Patty Wolk, Jackie & Leigh Mellendorf, and Kurt & Tammy Wolk. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wheaton. Visitation will be held Monday, December 8th from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Ranney Funeral Home in Wheaton, and continue Tuesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Glady was born in Wheaton on August 7, 1919 to John and Anna (Dahlstrom) Engstrom. She was raised on the family farm and baptized and confirmed at Gustavus Adolphus Church. Glady attended country school and graduated from Wheaton High School. She furthered her education attending beauty school in Minneapolis. Glady married Alvin Lindig on June 12, 1949 and raised three daughters: Gretchen, Joyce and Jane. Glady loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She worked in Wheaton as a beautician, receptionist for Dr. Magnuson, secretary for Add-a-Zyme and was a salesperson for Electrolux and Shaklee. For many years she served as the Traverse County American Cancer Memorial Chairperson. Glady enjoyed church, quilting, singing in the choir, and serving on Good Shepherd Church committees. Glady passed away on December 5, 2008 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton. Glady is survived by her daughters: Gretchen Gettman of Browns Valley, Joyce (Dr. Greg) Pappenfus of St. Cloud, and Jane (John) Haas of Holdingford, grandchildren: Kayla Haas of Phoenix, Arizona, Darcy Haas of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Karl (Patty) Wolk of Richland, Washington, Jackie (Leigh) Mellendorf of Brandt, South Dakota, Kurt (Tammy) Wolk of Onalaska, Wisconsin, step-grandchildren: Carol (Bill) Barbknecht of Underwood, Kathy (David) Schwagel of Browns Valley, and Ron (Judy) Gettman of Browns Valley, twelve great-grandchildren, one sister: Lucille (Bill) Swanke of Wheaton, and many nieces and nephews. Glady was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, son-in-law: Ray Gettman on November 26, 2007, and Husband: Alvin on July 6, 1972.

In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Trust Fund, Wheaton, Minnesota, or a memorial of your choice.
