Gloria Carpenter

Gloria Carpenter, age 90, of Wheaton, Minnesota passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton with Rev. Michael Breach officiating. Organist will be Sara Lee Rinke with special music by Lynae Berger

Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Wheaton. Pallbearers will be Dan Burwell, Joe Hager, Jason Hall, Tony King, Kevin Winterton and Robert Winterton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Elizabeth Burwell, Kellis Danks, Carolyn Hager, Debra Hall, Kathryn King, Allen Storbakken, Marsha Storbakken, Renae Storbakken, Stephanie Terry, Jennifer Winterton and Kori Winterton.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton. Visitation will continue Monday morning one hour prior to service time at the church.

Gloria was the second of twin daughters born to Elmer and Eva Schmidt on May 23, 1927 in Wheaton, MN. Gloria was baptized, confirmed and married at St. John Lutheran Church, where she was a member her entire life. Gloria graduated from Wheaton High School in 1946 and married Marvin Carpenter in 1947. They were married thirty-eight years until his death in 1986. Gloria worked for many years at the State Bank of Wheaton, as well as earlier years at Lindig's Market and Potter Drug Store.

Gloria is survived by Marvin Raguse of Wheaton; two daughters: Linda (Darrell) Winterton of Sparta, WI; and JoAnne (Michael) Burton of New Hope, MN; grandchildren: Debra (Jason) Hall, Robert (Kori) Winterton, Kevin (Jennifer) Winterton, Kathryn (Tony) King, Carolyn (Joe) Hager, Stephanie (Kellis Danks) Terry, and Elizabeth (Dan) Burwell; eight great-grandchildren; eleven nieces and six nephews.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Carpenter; parents; twin sister Glada Storbakken, sister Linda, brother William, son-in-law Robert Voltz and special friend Rex George.
