Grace Seifert

Funeral Services for Grace Seifert, 82, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Pastor Mickey Olson officiating. Pallbearers will be Venkat Duraiappa, Michael Smith, Bruce Ellingson, Vance Smith, Tom Monson Jr., Don Montonye, Ray Fiedler and Tait Tracy. Honorary Pallbearers will be "Grandchildren" Carey Duraiappa, Andrea Popp, Mitchel Johannsen, and Alex Johannsen, "Great-Grandchildren" Savanna Tomoson, Devon Smith, Isabelle Tomoson, Rainna Popp, Owen Smith and Lucca Duraiappa. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton at a later date. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 30th from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service at the Ranney Funeral Home in Wheaton. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Grace was born on September 8, 1927 to Clarence and Evelyn (Winchel) Monson in Wheaton, Minnesota. She was the youngest of the six children in the Monson family. She was baptized and confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton. Grace lived in Wheaton all her life where she raised her three children, Kathryn, Patricia and Michael. On October 18, 1972 she was united in married to Walter Seifert. They shared their life together until Wallys passing in 1993. Together they owned and operated the Wheaton Barber Shop and Seifert Shoes. They enjoyed traveling together, going to rodeos and fishing on Lake Traverse. In her younger years Grace also enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening and high maintenance lawn care. Grace lived in her home in Wheaton until 2008 when she moved from town to reside with her daughter Kitty in rural Wheaton. Grace enjoyed her time in the country and loved to watch her children and grandchildren ride and spend time with their horses. She would sit for hours to watch the barn and pasture activity. Her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was very precious to her. In 2009 Grace entered the Traverse Care Center where she resided until she was called home to celebrate her life with the Lord. Grace passed away on March 28, 2010 at the Traverse Care Center with her family at her side. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Grace is survived by her Children: Kathryn Kitty Smith, Patricia Patty (Gary) Tracy and Michael Mickey (Stacie) Johannsen, one sister: Carol (Vince) Stueve, grandchildren: Vance (Jennifer) Smith, Carey (Venkat) Duraiappa, Tait Tracy, Michael (Shannon) Smith, Andrea (special friend Bruce) Popp, Mitchel Johannsen, Alex Johannsen, Great Grandchildren: Savanna Tomoson, Isabelle Tomoson, Devon Smith, Rainna Popp, Owen Smith, Lucca Duraiappa, Cousins: Dorothy (Bob) Howe, Helen (Earl) Petersen, Merle (Jerry) Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Grace was preceded in death by husband: Walter Seifert, Parents: Clarence and Evelyn Monson, three brothers: Thomas Monson Sr., Robert Monson and Martin Monson, one Sister: Lorraine Eckholt.
