Harriet Buckman

Harriet Buckman, age 89, of Wheaton, Minnesota passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton with Rev. Cheryl Berg officiating. Organist will be LeAnn Bjornson with special music by Dennis Johnson.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 22nd from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. Prayer Service at the Bainbridge Funeral Home in Wheaton. Visitation will continue Saturday morning one hour prior to service time at the church.

Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery in the spring. Pallbearers will be Bill Buchholz, Harvey Wildung, Ralph Lupkes, John Serocki, Allen Weick and Dave Schmitz.

Harriet was born in Vienna, South Dakota. After graduating from high school in Hayti, South Dakota she attended a Nursing program in Watertown, South Dakota where she graduated as a registered nurse. Harriet married John Buckman and raised two children, Bruce and Steve. Harriet and John both worked in the marine business both manufacturing and retail sales most of their working lives. With the exception of a short stay in California. Harriet spent her entire adult life residing in western Minnesota, (Moorhead, Browns Valley, and Wheaton).

Harriet was a very active member of the Good Shepard Lutheran church's board and congregation in Wheaton for many years.

Harriet is survived by her brother Elliott Johnson, son Steve, grandchildren Randy and Stacy, and great-grandchildren Katherine and Nicholas.

Harriet was preceded in death by her husband John, son Bruce, mother and father Josie and Hilmer Johnson, brothers Sigurd and Merril, and sisters Eris and Janice.
