Funeral Service for Harvey W. Peterson, 73, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Charles Horkey officiating. Organist will be Sara Rinke with special music provided by Mike & Kathie Larson. Pallbearers will be Lee Susanka, Mert Larson, Elphege Webskowski, Allen Webskowski, Bud Hanson & Orval Hess. Honorary Pallbearers will be Grandchildren Erin Peterson, Michael Peterson, Kaitlin Bruns, Jordan Bruns, Nicole Bruns, Ashlee Bruns, Benjamyn Peterson & Billy Connelly. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 6, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with an 8:00 P.M. Prayer Service at the Ranney Funeral Home in Wheaton. Harvey Ward Peterson was born on October 5, 1933 in Warroad, Minnesota to John C. and Alice (Meyers) Peterson. He graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in May of 1951. He served in the United States Army from April 24, 1953 until April 22, 1955. For his service, Harvey received the National Defense Service Medal. After being honorably discharged he worked at Red Owl in Hopkins, Minnesota. Harvey attended Moorhead State University and earned a Bachelors degree in teaching. He later returned to complete his Masters degree. Harvey was united in marriage to Jean Webskowski on October 6, 1956. To this Union three children were born: Gregory, Lynette and Jeffrey. Harvey taught Social Studies and Drivers Education at Wheaton High School for over 32 years. He was also the Audio Visual Director for several years. Harvey enjoyed all of the students he taught over the years and loved visiting with them after graduation. Family was very important to Harvey and he loved spending time at the lake and with his grandchildren. He enjoyed going to coffee and visiting with everyone. Harvey passed away on Monday, June 4, 2007 at the Ortonville Municipal Hospital in Ortonville, Minnesota. Harvey is survived by his wife: Jean of Wheaton, MN, three children: Gregory Peterson (special friend Mary Amber) of Ortonville, MN, Lynette (Dennis) Bruns of Morris, MN, and Jeffrey (Karyn) Peterson of Dumont, MN, one sister: Marlys (Bud) Hanson of Brooklyn Center, MN and Eight Grandchildren.
