A Remembrance Prayer Service for Helen Charolette Gaulrapp, 76, will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Chokio, MN with Pastor Dell Sanderson officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be her Grandchildren Chad Gaulrapp, Derek Gaulrapp, Shannon Borchert, Brent Ascheman, Brandon Ascheman, Kayla Behrens, Joshua Behrens, Melissa Behrens. Interment will be at the Chokio Cemetery following the Prayer Service. Helen was born April 27, 1933, to Carl and Helena (Johnson) Hawkinson in Cyrus, MN, on a farm. Then the family moved to Chokio, MN where she attended school. She was a middle child of the 11 children in the Hawkinson family. She was baptized in the Cyrus Lutheran Church in Cyrus, MN. She was a long time member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Chokio, MN, and served on various committees. On February 23, 1951, she was united in marriage to Donald Gaulrapp at Vermillion, SD. She lived on a farm between Wheaton and Herman 59 years where she raised her three children, David, Patsy, and Vicki. Helen was a farm wife, and worked side by side with Bud taking care of the farm. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, camping, gardening, fishing, knitting, cooking, making lefsa, playing cards and entertaining friends, neighbors, and relatives. She always had lunch for anyone who would stop in at the farm. Helen spent the winters at Park Place East, Apache Junction, Arizona the last 12 years entertaining and playing cards with family and friends from many places. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Helen died March 19, 2010, at a Flagstaff Medical Center, Flagstaff, Arizona following a car accident at Holbrook, Arizona. Helen is survived by Husband, Donald Gaulrapp, Herman, MN: one son, David Gaulrapp of Fargo, ND, two daughters, Patsy (Bill) Ascheman, of Holloway, MN, Vicki (fianc Tim Kattke) Behrens of Watertown, SD, sister, Delores (Jim) Flaa of Minneapolis, MN, two brothers, Ernest Hawkinson of Chokio and Clarence (Evelyn) Hawkinson of California, one aunt, Janette Cronen of Benson, MN, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Helena (Johnson) Hawkinson: Grandson, Christopher Gaulrapp, one sister, Verna Rosenmerkel, and six brothers, Lloyd Hawkinson, Donald Hawkinson, Raymond Hawkinson, Norman Hawkinson, Elmer Hawkinson, Dennis Hawkinson.
