Funeral Mass for Idelle M. Fridgen, age 91, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Monday, July 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton with Fr. Joe Vandeberg Celebrant. Visitation will be held Sunday evening, July 28th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service at the Ranney-Bainbridge Funeral Home in Wheaton. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church on Monday. Idelle Mary Fridgen was born February 28, 1922 on a farm in Croke Township, Traverse County, Minnesota to Joseph and Orlie (Roth) Fridgen. She completed eight grade at St. Peter's Catholic School in Dumont and later graduated from Wheaton High School in 1939. She worked in Minneapolis, traveled to California and later moved to Dumont after working at Honeywell Incorporated for twenty years. Idelle loved playing the piano for all occasions, including at Ave Maria Catholic Church. She played piano for a luxurious hotel while living in Los Angeles, California. She won piano competitions, always eager to entertain others. Idelle enjoyed traveling the United States and abroad. She enjoyed a trip to Europe, meeting the Pope along the way. Idelle loved to garden and was a great cook. Idelle gave of herself to others and was a true servant of God. She often cared for her nieces and nephews and was a great volunteer to the communities of Wheaton and Dumont. She served on the Dumont City Council, Dumont church choir and worked at the activities department at Traverse Care Center for many years. She will be greatly missed.. Idelle passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 23, 2013 at Sanford Hospital in Wheaton. Idelle is survived by her sister Genevieve Hennen and brother Joe (Helen Ann) Fridgen both of Wheaton; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Idelle was preceded in death by her parents; sister Evelyn Fridgen-Lewis; brother Gene Fridgen; brothers-in-law Alvin Hennen and Fabian Lewis, and sisters-in-law Doris and Opal Fridgen.
