Funeral Service for Jeanette Grace Olson, 90, of Wheaton, Minnesota, will be held Friday, October 29, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Charles Horkey officiating. Organist will be Sara Rinke with speical music provided by Dennis Johnson. Pallbearers will be Walter Schmidtke, Michael Koci, Eugene Borsheim, Brett Lupkes, Jim Lupkes and Ralph Lupkes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Diane Lupkes and Lyle Lupkes. Visitation will be Thursday, October, 28th from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Ranney Funeral Home in Wheaton. Visitation will continue Friday morning one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, rural Herman, Minnesota. Jeanette Grace Lupkes was born December 3, 1919 in Grundy Center, Iowa to George and Jenny (Barkhoff) Lupkes. She grew up and attended country school in rural Wheaton. She was united in marriage to Einar Olson on December 14, 1941. The couple resided on a farm north of Norcross, Minnesota where they lived until Einar passed away on November 12, 1983. Shortly after Einar died, Jeanette moved into Wheaton, and later into the Traverse Care Center where she lived until her death on October 23, 2010. Jeanette lived her life around faith, family and farming. She was a fabulous cook. She will be remembered for her wonderful meals and desserts. She would often host large meals for her family for birthday parties and holidays. She was also a wonderful seamstress, and loved needlework. Jeanette was a faithful member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Norcross, Minnesota before its closing, and has been a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton ever since. Jeanette is survived by two children: Carol (Robert) Johnson of Burnsville, Minnesota and Randy (Mary) Olson of Norcross, Minnesota, two grandchildren: Katy (Jay) Myers and their son Eddie of Apple Valley, Minnesota and Kelly Johnson of Chesterfield, Virginia, Siblings: Frances (Earl) Borsheim of Wheaton, Mary (Fritz) Muller of Madison, Minnesota, Irene Kaul of Rochester, Minnesota, Elmer (Dorothy) Lupkes of Wheaton, Oscar (Merlita) Lupkes of Wheaton, and Tillie Koci of Wheaton, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters: Hilka Schmidtke and Christina Hernvall, and three brothers: George, Fred and Ole Lupkes. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Lakeland Hospice.
