Visitation and time of sharing for Joel Keith Sperr, 53, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Ranney Funeral Home in Wheaton, Minnesota. Joel passed away on November 4, 2009 at his residence in Wheaton. Interment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery, Herman, Minnesota. Joel Keith Sperr, raised in California but rooted in the State of Minnesota he dearly loved so much, passed unexpectedly in Wheaton, Minnesota on November 4, 2009. Born on January 9, 1956, Joel was a gifted musician who began drum lessons at the age of 3 years old and carried his passion for music throughout his life. After graduating from Highlands High School in California, Joel went on the road with well-known California bands who admired his professionalism and talent. Longing to return to Minnesota where his many aunts, uncles and cousins resided, Joel moved to Minnesota and took a job at Fiskers in Wheaton where he worked several years, followed by employment for several years at Prime Wood in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Joel had a hearty laugh and kindness about him that made him many friends. He was devoted to his work, his family and countless friends. He will be sorely missed. Joel is survived by his mother: Clara Arnold of North Highlands, California; sister Sheila and brother-in-law Dale Crump of Elk Grove, California; and brother Gary and sister-in-law Nancy Sperr of Granite Bay, California; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who reside in Minnesota. Joel was preceded in death by his father, Albert C. Sperr.
