Funeral Service for John Kenneth Crandall, age 55, of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota will be held Thursday morning, August 30, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Thomas Olson officiating. Organist will be LeAnn Bjornson with special music provided by Dennis Johnson. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. A private family interment will take place at a later date. The Ranney-Bainbridge Funeral Home of Wheaton, Minnesota is in charge of arrangements. John was born on June 29, 1957 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Ray and Yvonne (Kopitzke) Crandall. John graduated from Wheaton High School Class of 1975 . He furthered his education at St. Cloud State University with a degree in accounting. John worked his way up through the Gannett Corporation and was recently a press supervisor in the Minneapolis office. John worked for Gannett for twenty years and never once took a sick day. He and his co-workers were very close. Every time John took a vacation he would return with presents for them. John was always willing to lend some help to anyone who needed it, even though by nature he was very quiet and reserved. He was very meticulous about his home which was always very neat and extremely organized. He had a passion for vintage cars and never missed an opportunity to see a car show. He enjoyed trips to New York to see family, as they were always the most important thing to John. He was a great gift buyer for his nieces and nephews and often made their parents look bad . John was a joy to be around and will be deeply missed by family and friends. He passed away at his residence in Brooklyn Park on August 25, 2012. John is survived by his parents Ray and Yvonne Crandall of Wheaton; Siblings: Tom Crandall of Jersey City, New Jersey; Jean Crandall Clark of Lidgerwood North Dakota; Joyce (Kurt) Crandall Zimmerman of Sauk Rapids Minnesota; Janet Crandall of New York, New York; and Robert Crandall of Fargo, North Dakota; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. John was preceded in death by an infant daughter Melissa.
