Funeral Service for Judith "Judi" Monson, age 67, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Monday, June 17, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Darrell Boe officiating. Organist will be Nancy Krenz. Honorary Urn bearers will be all of Judi's nieces and nephews. Inurnment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. Judith Ann (Spotts) Monson was born in Duluth, Minnesota on March 29, 1946 to Bill and Donna Spotts. She was baptized and confirmed in the Presbyterian Church in Browns Valley, Minnesota. Judi attended Browns Valley School graduating in 1964. She went to Wahpeton State School of Science for nursing and trained in Valley City and Grand Forks. She then started her nursing career in the Wheaton Hospital in the spring of 1966. Judi married Tom Monson Jr. on October 8, 1966 (opening day of duck hunting season). They were blessed with one son, Martin. Judi belonged to the Homemakers Club, the Presbyterian Church Choir, the Browns Valley Community Choir, a bowling league, and was President of United Presbyterian Women. She loved gardening and had beautiful flower gardens. Judi liked trying out new recipes on her family and had many recipe books. She made many beautiful pieces with her crocheting and counted cross stitch and shared them with her family. Judi passed away on Thursday morning, June 13, 2013 at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Judi is survived by her husband Tom Monson of Wheaton; son Martin (Renee) Monson of Nashville, Tennessee; two grandchildren Annika and August Monson of Nashville, Tennessee; her father Bill Spotts of Browns Valley, Minnesota; sisters: Vicki (Curt) Powers of Browns Valley, Minnesota and Jan (Terry) Biewer of Moorhead, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews. Judi was preceded in death by her mother Donna, and a brother Lynn.
