Funeral Services for Kathryn Mardelle Otto of Wheaton will be held Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wheaton. Pastor Tom Olson will officiate. Honorary pallbearers are: Gerald Pat Wenker, Blanche Berger, Gwen Wenker, Verna Olson, Garey Meinjohans, the Good Shepherd Church quilting women, and the VFW Women's Auxiliary. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening at the Ranney Funeral Chapel from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Wheaton. The Ranney Funeral Home, www.ranneyfuneralhome.com is in charge of arrangements. Kathryn Mardelle Otto, age 85, of Wheaton MN, passed away May 6, 2006 at SCCI Hospital in Fargo ND. Mardelle was born July 26, 1920 in Lidgerwood ND, the daughter of Michael and Helen Marguerite Bohnenstingl. She graduated from Wheaton High School in 1937. Mardelle attended Normal College, and then taught country school until her marriage on February 18, 1942 to John Albert Otto of Wheaton. Mardelle was a very involved member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was an active member in the VFW Auxiliary, holding various positions. Mardelle also volunteered as an election judge. She enjoyed knitting, quilt making, sewing, cooking, fishing, dancing, donut making for the VFW Fair Stand and others, and was an avid painter. Her artwork was recently exhibited for a month in the Wheaton Public Library. Kathryn Mardelle Otto is survived by her children John M. (Judy) Otto, James B. Otto, and Donald E Otto (Karen) all of Wheaton, Deborah J Otto of Minneapolis, Charles E Otto of Moorhead, and Pamela Thompson of Minneapolis; sister Lois Judy Klugman of Wheaton; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Helen Marguerite Bohnenstingl, her husband John A. Otto, her son Richard K Otto, brothers Kenneth, Allen, and Robert, and sisters Barbara and infant Mina Bohnenstingl.
