Funeral Mass for Leila Eleanor LeCuyer, age 100, of Browns Valley, Minnesota will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Browns Valley, Minnesota with Fr. Joe Vandeberg Celebrant. Organist will be Norma Jung. Pallbearers will be Leilas grandchildren: Cindy Nestberg, David LeCuyer, John LaMonica, Mark LaMonica, Sara OBrian, Eric LeCuyer, Theresa LeCuyer, Brian LeCuyer, Roger Butch Wentland, Kathy Kvalvog, Steve Wentland, Andrew Anderson, Tom Anderson, Susan Bakken, Jeff Anderson and Jean Noack. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Browns Valley, Minnesota. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, May 8th from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a 7:30 P.M. Prayer Service at the Ranney-Bainbridge Funeral Home in Wheaton. Leila Eleanor McClellan was born November 16, 1911 in Clifton Township, Traverse County, Minnesota to Henry and Emma (Watters) McClellan. Leila grew up in Wheaton, Minnesota where she graduated from High School. She furthered her education by attending Moorhead State College in Moorhead, Minnesota. Leila taught rural school near Tintah, at District #60 in 1930. She was united in marriage to Ray LeCuyer on April 3, 1934. After her marriage she taught in District #35 and in Browns Valley, Minnesota. She retired from teaching in 1978 and she and Ray wintered in McAllen, Texas until Ray passed away on April 24, 1981. Leila continued to winter in McAllen, Texas for a total of twenty five years. Leila passed away Saturday morning, May 5, 2012 at the Rosholt Care Center in Rosholt, South Dakota. Leila was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Browns Valley and Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton. She was a member and a past regent of the Daughters of Isabella. Leila is survived by four children: Lyle (Kay) LeCuyer of Wheaton; Kathy (John) LaMonica of Vero Beach, Florida; Raymond (Barbara) LeCuyer of Andover, Minnesota and Ramona (Carrol) Anderson of Elbow Lake, Minnesota; one brother, John McClellan of Westbrook, Minnesota, sixteen grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Leila was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Margie Knutson and Katherine Fesler, brother Clare McClellan and infant brother Melvin.
