Leona Mills

Funeral Service for Leona Catherine (Lund) Mills, 80, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Friday, January 30, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Rev. Charles Horkey officiating. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Wheaton. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 29th from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service at the Ranney Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Friday morning from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Leona Catherine Stach was born to Gustave and Catherine (Zeimetz) Stach on March 11, 1928 near Wolverton, Minnesota. She attended country school near Wolverton. Leona married Oscar Lund on April 30, 1946. Together they raised six children. Oscar passed away on April 20, 1977. On June 5, 1981 Leona married Ira Mills who had one son, Bruce. Ira passed away May 5, 1997. Leona worked at Traverse Care Center for 18 years. Leona enjoyed spending her free time with her family. She also enjoyed playing cards, bowling, bingo, fishing and camping. Leona spent the last three years at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton where she passed away on January 27, 2009. Leona is survived by six children: Jerry (Marlys) Lund of Wahpeton, ND, Diane (Ralph) Lupkes of Wheaton, Dennis (Jane) Lund of Wahpeton, ND, Marge (Bruce) Mills of Motley, MN, Cindy Lund of St. Cloud, MN, and Debbie (Steve) McCann of Albertville, MN, one sister: Mary Ann Mohs of Wahpeton, ND, seven grandchildren: Kristie (Tom) Rittenhouse of Breckenridge, MN, Jason (Jessie) Lupkes of St. Cloud, MN, Trisha Mills of Fayetteville, AK, Alison (Andy) Ennenga of Prescott WI, Matthew and Melissa McCann both of Albertville, MN, and Ashley Lund of St. Cloud, MN, and nine great-grandchildren. Leona was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, eight brothers: Emil, George, Leo, Henry, Harold, Gustave, Vincent and William, two sisters: Minnie Knutson and Elsie Powelson.
