Funeral Service for Leona Mitchell, age 93, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Friday, October 19, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton with Rev. Anthony Ahrendt officiating. Organist will be Sara Lee Rinke. Pallbearers will be Jim Lupkes, Darin Lupkes, Kevin Lupkes, Jimmy Lupkes, Tom Asleson and Arlo Stange. Interment will be in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Dumont, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church on Friday. The Ranney-Bainbridge Funeral Home of Wheaton, Minnesota is in charge of arrangements. Leona was born on August 26, 1919. She was the daughter of Carl and Helena (Sager) Lohndorf. God received Leona to Himself on October 17, 2012. Leona was received into Gods Kingdom of Grace through Holy Baptism on September 12, 1919 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, in Dumont, Minnesota. Leona confirmed her faith on March 25, 1934 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Dumont, Minnesota. Leona was born on a farm by Dumont, Minnesota. She moved out west and worked in airplane factories during WWII putting rivets in war planes. She lived in Vancouver, Washington the rest of her life until moving back to Wheaton, Minnesota in 2003. Leona is survived by a niece: Luella (Jim) Lupkes; nephews: Arlo (Angela) Stange and Glen Stange; and great nephews and nieces. Leona was preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Helena Lohndorf, husbands: Charlie Miller, Jim Jacobson, Roy Mitchell; infant brother: Albert Lohndorf; sister and brother-in-law: Dorothy and Arno Stange; and nephew: Gerald Stange.
