Leora Kietzman

Leora Kietzman of Hastings, MN, formerly of the Herman-Morris area, passed away Saturday morning at the Augustana Care Center in Hastings, MN. She was 87 years old. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 25, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Herman, MN. Rev. Carl Berner officiated. Interment was in the Lakeside Cemetery in Herman, next to her husband Harold. Leora was born to William and Caroline (Arndt) Raatz in Beardsley, MN on August 18, 1918. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended school at Beardsley and graduated from Beardsley High School. Leora married Harold Kietzman on October 11, 1944 in Herman. During their married life they lived in Herman, Wheaton and retired to Morris in 1987. Leora was active in her church as a LWML member and also taught Sunday school. She especially enjoyed attending LLL events with Harold. She liked working with flowers, and cooking but her favorite pastime was anytime she could spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by daughters; Marilyn Englund of Wheaton, Carole (Bill) Peterson of Hastings, MN and son Paul (Shawn) Kietzman of Morris, MN., brother-in-law and sister-in-law Harvey and June Kietzman of Akley, MN, sisters-in-law; Lillian Raatz of Beardsley and Lois Raatz of St Paul, MN, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. Her husband, Harold, went to be with the Lord in May of 2002. Pallbearers are her grandsons; Neil Englund, Brandon Englund, Zac Kietzman, Kirk Eveslage, Darrin Harder, Brad Frost, Joe DeZwaan. Honorary Pallbearers are her granddaughters; Amy Eveslage, Brenda Englund, Michelle Harder, Katie Peterson, Dayna Frost, Carrie DeZwaan, Leah Kietzman and Karla Kietzman.
