Funeral Service for Lloyd James Beadle, 84, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Pastor Mickey Olson officiating. Organist will be Nancy Krenz. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Wheaton American Legion and VFW. Interment will be held in Wildwood Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Lloyd was born on June 2, 1926 in New Sharon, Iowa to John and Margaret (Meyer) Beadle. Lloyd was drafted in the US Army in 1944. After basic training he was sent to the Philippines where he was trained to invade Japan when the war ended. He finished his two year tour as an MP in Japan. Lloyd returned to the United States to be discharged. He was united in marriage to Rose Marie Riess on August 16, 1946 in Washington, D.C. The couple resided in New Sharon, Iowa for two years and then moved to Traverse County where Lloyd farmed with his father-in-law, Willard Riess. Lloyd and Rose moved into Wheaton in 1978 where he continued to live until he entered the Traverse Care Center in September of 2010. Lloyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, auction sales, flea markets and time spent at Wheaton Rec. where he was the gopher and helped Loretta. Lloyd was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton. Lloyd passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton. Lloyd is survived by his wife: Rose Beadle of Wheaton, two brothers: John Beadle and Warren Beadle of Oskaloosa, Iowa, special nephew: Willie and Reita Acord of State Center, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Isabelle Beadle Long, and three brothers: Fay, Melvin and Lyle Beadle.
