Funeral Service for Lloyd Jarrells, 87, of Shoreview, Minnesota, formerly of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Pastor J.C. Duncan officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 26th from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Ranney Funeral Chapel in Wheaton. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton. Lloyd W. Jarrells was born on May 21, 1920 to Walter and Flossie Jarrells in Dallas, South Dakota. He grew up in the Graceville/Barry area and moved to Wheaton in the late 1920s. He was united in marriage to Eleanor Swanke on January 20, 1942, and entered the Army Air Corps in April, 1942. During World War II he served in Texas, and the China, Burma, India Theatre until discharged in April 1946. When he returned to Wheaton, he went to work for Larson Implement as a John Deere mechanic and worked there for about 20 years. At that time, he changed careers and went to work for Traverse County as County Shop Foreman. He worked for the county until he retired in 1981. He was active in the First Presbyterian Church, life member of the VFW and American Legion, 25 year retiree and past chief of the Wheaton Fire Department, and a Wheaton City Council Member. He loved golf, traveling, camping, wood working, and his family. He and Eleanor spent many years traveling around the country in their RV, enjoying the scenery and meeting new friends. During their travels, they were lucky enough to visit all 50 states. In 2000, he and Eleanor sold their home in Wheaton and moved to Shoreview, MN, where he lived until his death. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Eleanor of Shoreview, MN, sons William (Lynn Larson) of Ramsey, MN and Norman (Mary) of Wildwood, MO, daughter Peggy Hedback (John) of Shoreview, MN, grandchildren Tony Jarrells (Gretchen) of Columbia, SC, Tim Jarrells of Arcata, CA, Paul Jarrells (Beverlee) of Longmont, CO, Brian Jarrells of St. Paul, MN, Jennifer Knutson (Josh) of Rosemount, MN, David Jarrells of Estes Park, CO, Janine Hedback of Shoreview, MN, Phillip Hedback of Honolulu HI, and Steven Hedback of Shoreview, MN; 3 great grandchildren Brittani Jarrells, Gabriel Jarrells, and Kyli Knutson. He is also survived by 4 sisters E. Marie Kirby (Everett, WA), Lucille Hofer (Everett, WA), Ruby Adams (Lacey, WA), and Leona Warholm (Underwood, MN). He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Flossie Jarrells, his brother Earl in infancy, and his daughter in law Martha Jarrells. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society & Hospice.
