Funeral Service for Loran Gene Granberg, 67, of Wheaton, Minnesota will be held Monday, November 29, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethlehem Covenant Church in Wheaton, Minnesota with Pastor Tim Shekleton officiating. Interment will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service at Bethlehem Covenant Church. Loran Granberg was born on November 3, 1943 in Breckenridge, MN to Melvin and Elsa (Mossberg) Granberg. He attended school in Wheaton, MN, and was a resident of the Wheaton area for most of his life. He married Angie Bernard on July 8, 1972. Loran worked for the Traverse County Highway Department for 33 years until retiring in 2000, and also enjoyed helping out on local farms. Loran enjoyed attending Bethlehem Covenant Church. He also enjoyed caring for animals, visiting with friends and family, time spent with his grandkids, old cars and trucks, and listening and dancing to rock n roll oldies, polkas, and waltzes. Loran passed away peacefully November 22 at the Palliative Care Unit of Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. Loran is survived by his wife: Angie Granberg of Wheaton, two sons: Roy Granberg (Kelly Bottema) of Holdingford, Minnesota and Gene (Julie) Granberg of St. Cloud, Minnesota, two grandchildren: Simon and Julene Granberg of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and his father-in-law: Vincent Bernard of Rosholt, South Dakota. Loran was preceded in death by his parents: Melvin Granberg and Elsa Granberg, and his mother-in-law: Rosella Bernard. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
