Funeral Services for Louis Junior Hormann of Dumont will be held Tuesday, Nov. 24th, at 11:00 AM at the Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton. His 13 grandchildren will be his pallbearers. There will be visitation Monday evening at the Ranney Funeral Chapel in Wheaton from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Louis passed away at his home in rural Dumont Friday evening. At the time of his death he was surrounded by his family on his farm that he built over the last 47 years and was so proud of. He was 75 years old. Louis was born on November 19, 1934 in Parnell Township, Traverse County to Louis Henry Hormann and Alberta Stevenson. He attended and graduated from the eighth grade at District 6 Parnell Country School. Later he attended Hanson Mechanical Trade School in Fargo, North Dakota from 1957 until 1959. Louis met the love of his life, Kaye Meyer on a blind date on Halloween night in 1958. They married on September 5, 1959 at St. Anthonys Church in Fairmount, North Dakota. They started their life together on a farm one and a half miles from the current family farm until they purchased their own family homestead in 1962. Louis most enjoyed being in the great outdoors. He loved golfing, ice fishing, hunting, and fixing anything, whether it needed it or not. He was most famous for his inventions . He always said, I can make that! He was a member of the Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton, the Tri-State Archery Club and the Graceville Golf Club. Louis Hormann is survived by his wife, Kaye, 4 children: Robin and Duane Ulrich of Wheaton, Kelly and Anita Hormann of Willmar, MN, Kimberly and Lawrence Sickerson of Helena, MT, and Jon and Cheri Hormann of Minnetonka, two sisters: Betty Lundquist of Wheaton, Christine and Gerald Stiedl of Carlos, MN, and one brother, Milton and Margie Hormann of Wheaton, 13 grandchildren: Gina (Tony) Berger, Cheri (Michael) Foss, Adam Ulrich, Brady Hormann, Daniel (Kari) Hormann, Zachary Hormann, Kristin Hormann, Rebecca Syverson, KayDee Syverson, Amy Syverson, Hunter Sickerson, Parker Hormann, Peyton Hormann, 6 great grandchildren: Kyla and Hadley Berger, Hudson and Amery Foss, Talan and Mason Ulrich. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lowell and Elwin, and one sister, Lulabelle. We'll have a photo video tribute posted as soon as it's available.
